Improved Cerebral Blood Flow (IRL-1620)
Endothelin (ET) is a vasoconstrictor peptide used by the body to control arterial blood flow. An ET receptor agonist can enhance the effect of ET on vascular regulation. It has been found that ETB receptor agonists such as IRL-1620 can significantly increase cerebral blood flow. This increase in blood flow can improve the flow of oxygen and nutrients to brain cells as well as increase the delivery of other therapeutic agents to the brain. EndogenX believes that ETB agonists such as IRL-1620 may prove to be an important adjunct therapy for the treatment of ischemic stroke and traumatic brain injury.
